Intro To Woodfire
Hello and thanks for your interest in the Taos Clay Intro to Woodfire Workshop! In this workshop we will be loading and firing the Minibigama kiln at Taos Clay. The workshop will cover all of the basics of slips, glazes, loading techniques, and firing of a wood kiln. The class is open to all levels. Information:
Cost: $285 includes glazes, slips, firing and instruction. Does not include clay, food, or accomodations. Attendees should come to workshop with 3 cubic feet of bisked work.
Start Date: Thursday, Oct. 5th @ 10 AM.
Day 1: Introduction to kiln, making wadding, slips and glazing for a wood kiln.
Day 2: Loading the kiln. Everyone will get a chance to load the kiln. Brick up door.
Day 3: Begin firing.
Day 4: Finish 48 hour firing and down-fire.
We will unload: Oct 13th
